Navigation training / Orienteering
Navigating is one of the most important parts of adventure racing and need not be the hardest part.
We will teach you the basic concepts of orienteering and topographic maps, explain what you need to know to get around a course and find those all-important checkpoints. We also have practice courses for you and tips for including navigation into your everyday training.
To some extent, most beginner adventure racers are also beginner navigators so don't get too hung up on this. You'll learn a lot in your first adventure race because we will be right there beside you, and keep in mind you are in a team so there is always someone else to blame if you do get lost!
Here is your opportunity to try an obstacle course without the pressure of racing.
We have hired a course and will teach you some of the major obstacles before letting you run the course at your own pace.
So grab some friends and try something new.
It’s under an hours’ drive from Melbourne and our trainers will teach you the major obstacles you are likely to encounter on any course, then you are free to try them or run the course
It’s a fun day out with no pressure and the course is super short so there is no need to worry about your fitness – walk, run or sprint if you feel the urge.
You can also try every obstacle or simply run around them – although we encourage you to have a go!
Warm outdoor showers available and change rooms, plus a great lunch provided
