Walking women

Bush walking hasn’t really been mainstream for inner suburban women, so why now are more and more women taking up adventures and walking?

It’s a great way to stay fit, lose weight with relatively low impact exercise and allows social connection for like minded women. A few hours on the track gives plenty of time to establish new friendships which as we get older is important. Our sense of community is a great strength for our regular walkers, it’s very rewarding and gives you that sense of accomplishment when you get to the top of the mountain or you finish that technical section of trail. Then you can say “yeah me”
Walking and adventure touring means you get to go places that many people don’t, can’t or won’t. They are not great words, so we prefer to remain positive and head towards some of the best destinations which can only be reached on foot. There is definitely a euphoric feeling of walking out on the beach at Sealers Cove having made your own way there.

Being outside makes us feel free and relieves the pressures of everyday life. Some research has suggested that it can be one of the most effective antidepressants available.
Walking in a group like ours means the activity is safe, we guide you, support you and encourage you along the track. We provide healthy food and the sharing of recipes is a great bonus.
