Mt Speculation, Mt. Howitt, Crosscut Saw, Terrible Hollow
In one of our first two night walks by Take Shape Adventures, we will be taking on some iconic high country hiking with the Mount Speculation walk. This bush walk includes some awesome scenery of the Devils Staircase, embarking up Mt Howitt and taking on the Crosscut Saw along the way. Even the toilets on this walk have outstanding views!
The backdrop for tales of Bushrangers, iconic movies and more, the high country is a vast corner of Victoria just waiting to be explored.
12th – 14th January, $450, all food and cooking equipment, help with gear, and a like-minded group of people and we can have a camp fire (if weather conditions are suitable)
Strictly limited spaces, you will be expected to contribute to carrying some food.
We will be hiking in a short distance on Friday afternoon, to enable an early start on the Saturday morning ensuring we get to our intended destination. There is a lengthy drive from Melbourne which can be undertaken on Friday during the day.
Don’t have any gear?
Not to worry! We can loan you the equipment you’ll need, including tents, backpacks and sleeping mats. (We do not loan sleeping bags) – Check out our packlist here
I’m coming on my own…
We get a lot of solo guests on our adventures, so you won’t be the only one! It’s a great opportunity to meet like-minded people and make new friends. We also help organise carpooling, so you can have some company on the way up and back.
Am I fit enough?
This walk is for moderate to good fitness levels, whith some exposed walking along ridges and both steep descents and ascents. As always, we’re there to support and encourage you along the way.
