Sustainability
Take shape Adventures is committed to being a more sustainable business and is continually looking on ways to improve in this area. We advocate for active adventurous travel which benefits us, both physically and mentally, and which can be transformative. Further to this we are in a position to encourage and facilitate learning about our environment and deliver some key messages. Take Shape adventures advocates for everybody to commit to a healthier planet and positive future.
What we’re doing
- We have never used single-use items. Our food containers, plates and crockery are all washed and reused for every trip.
- We make bulk homemade food, largely vegetarian, food scraps and waste are composted.
- We loan gear such as tents, sleeping mats and rucksacks to avoid unnecessary purchases These are repaired throughout their life.
- We have recently partnered with Off-track www.offtrack.com.au and currently promote their 2nd Life Program. We aim to roll out a program of collecting old outdoor gear across all trips in 2022.
- TSA operates on a carry in – carry out policy. TSA guides lead by example and pick up any extra litter on the trail, aiming to have a positive, rather than neutral, impact.
- Our community supports locals, we only engage local businesses rather than large multinational chains.
- Office runs on renewable energy supply.
