Exciting adventures, magical landscapes of stunning contrasts, featuring boiling earth, cascading rivers, vivid mossy green boulders in a lush rain forest, desolate volcanoes and all the while tempting you with stunning vistas.We’ll satisfy your need for adventure but the goal is not to exhaust you – quite the opposite! We want this to be about you, so leave the stresses behind and let us entertain you.
A huge 6 bedroom house with a lovely lounge and kitchen. The motel has its own hot water pool right outside the door.
3 units with 4 people in each. The facility has its very own mineral spas, perfect after our long days of activities.
The food will be provided by both accommodation chefs and our very own adventure chef to prepare and cook your delicious and nutritious dinner, lunches, all snacks and breakfast. We love our food so be prepared to have freshly ground coffee, yummy snacks and fresh fruit, beautiful vegetable based salads, wraps and cheeses. All this food is energy filled to sustain you on the track – oh! and lets not forget a sneaky desert or two and a glass of wine.We can cater for a range of intolerances and dietary requirements. Contact us if you have any particular requests, however please note that due to the isolated nature of the trip and limitations with food transport on the trail, we will do our best to cater for you.
Example of food:
Breakfast: Eggs, overnight oats, cereal, muesli and toast
Snacks: Fruit, homemade cookies and slices
Lunch: Wraps, rice salads, vegetable salads, antipasto, breads, dips
Dinner: High carbohydrate vegetable based meals
Dessert: Some evenings will be Sticky Date Pudding, Ice-cream and fruit, Cheesecake
Our itinerary is a guide, we are a fully supportive and encouraging GROUP tour. The days may change with weather forecasts. Predicted cold weather may result in shorter days or alternative walks. Other weather factors including but not limited to storms, lightning, floods and fires may change the itinerary. The itinerary may also change due to the overall group fitness.The itinerary has been put together to give you maximum amount of time on the trail with the least amount of time wasted – true TSA fashion. There will be scheduled down time and easier days to recover, but this is a BIG trip.
Pick up from Auckland Airport.
Our first walk at Karangahake Gorge including a long section of old mining tunnel – it’s pretty cool and very very dark. Grade 2. 4km, 1hr
Wairere Falls. A lovely ferny walk alongside this typically stunning creek and up to a viewing platform. Grade 3. 6km
Drive to our accommodation
Tarawera Lake Walk to the hot beach. This lovely walk alongside Lake Tarawera has a real tropical feel with amazing views through palm trees. The best is at the end where hot thermal springs meet the cold lake water – pick your best spot! Then take a boat back to the start. Grade 3. 15km, 5 hrs
Mountain Biking or walk through the woods or free time.
Night time dip at the Kerosine Falls thermal river. This is a magical moment as the natural hot water creek cascades over you leaving you feeling fantastic.

Early dip to Kerosine Falls again (optional but it’s so awesome)
Rainbow Mountain. A short mountain hike passing a blue lake, with 360-degree views at the top. Amazing ground colors on the path. Grade 3. 5km, 2 hours
Huka Falls Walk. After admiring the sheer velocity of the mighty Huka Falls, we walk along the river towards a local spa park for a possible dip in the thermal pool. Grade 2. 5km, 1 hour
Arrive at new accommodation. Relax.
Early departure for Tongariro Crossing. One of the best day walks you’ll ever do. This walk is simply stunning, incredible, awesome and is world renowned for good reason. Let us handle logistics. Grade 5. 20km, 8hrs
Downtime! You earned it.
Cheese and wine tasting
Head out today for a fresh and exhilarating morning on a raft down the Turangi River, over rapids and around rocks as you team up with your fellow walkers for an different kind of adventure!
Taranaki Falls. A short walk takes you over the alpine plains, admiring the mountains around you then down to a spectacular waterfall. Grade 2. 5km, 2hrs
After all that we’ll have some downtime!
Mount Ruapehu climb. The volcanic landscape has no marked tracks as you scramble, climb and hike as far as you can, a lucky few may even reach the top. No matter where you stop this is a spectacular walk. Grade 4. Distance and time variable.

Our last event will leave you shivering and smiling from ear to ear, tubing, waterfall jumping and glowworms!
