Overview

These wonderful trips are designed to give the overnight hiker an opportunity to explore beyond the reach of just a day walk, without the anxiety of a long day carrying a heavy rucksack. They involve a pack carry on the first day, then two or three day walks with just your small bag and heading back to  your standing base camp each night. We have a range of destinations available, from the wilds of Tassie to the Victorian High Plains and they are a wonderful opportunity to blend your love of the outdoors and the challenge of a multi-night tent experience without being too far from the safety and security that a base camp can provide.

This particular trip is based in the High Country on Mt Stirling, walking just 7km in with our big packs, setting up a base camp and then doing our longer day walks. We will explore some of the best of our high country mountains, staying high on ridgelines and forest trails, plus taking in the views. But the best thing is by setting up a base camp, we carry daypacks each day and return from our walks tired and hungry to our established camp – bliss! All of this plus the yummy fresh food and the support you have come to expect from Take Shape Adventures.
You don’t necessarily need prior hiking experience but you will need to be ready to sleep in a tent for multiple nights and be able to walk the required distance each day for four days in a row, including two pack carry days. We’d love to see you on this exciting experience to take your day walking or overnight hiking to a new level and head into the wilds with the security of a base camp and our supportive and experienced staff.

A last lunch back at Telephone box junction will give you a chance to reflect on an awesome few days before you make your way back home.
