Overview
It’s been on the request list for a while now – so get out your grippy shoes and get ready for a scrambling adrenaline pumping adventure. This circuit requires good fitness, and you will need to be confident on exposed rock scrambles. This walk is only available to existing TSA customers and we strongly recommend that you have already tackled some of our other harder hikes, such as the regular Cathedral Ranges walks.
After a long steady uphill start to morning tea, we then take the more difficult Wells Cave Track – This very steep and technical track which has a number of short climbs requiring a good level of physical ability and a willingness to tackle exposed terrain. There is also a short section that requires you to take your pack off and breath in as it very narrow in parts.
We’ll be there to lend a hand of course, but you will need to have a good level of confidence. The ridge involves more technical walking and again requires you to be able to move confidently through very uneven terrain. After a hearty lunch accompanied by sitting back and taking in the magnificent scenery, we start the descent back to the start. You’ll feel inspired and proud of your achievements after this exhilarating day out.
This is a Grade 5+ walk due to the technical terrain, not the distance. If you love rocky scrambling walks, this is your kind of day out.
Please Note: This is a challenging hike. While our goal is to finish by 3:30 PM, please keep in mind that as a group, the pace may vary, and the hike could take longer. Conditions at the top can be colder, so be sure to bring extra warm clothes to layer on. Walking poles can be helpful, and it’s essential that your footwear has good grip.
