You can participate in yoga sessions delivered by experienced instructors, walk trails through beautiful tall forests that fill you up with fresh air and serenity. From our lifestyle sessions you will take home the tools to form healthy habits and live your best life through mindfulness and gratitude. You will meet like-minded people, share healthy food and a drink with new friends. You will relax, reconnect and leave feeling refreshed and inspired.
If you are looking to get away and give yourself that extra spark for truly amazing results, then this is the perfect weekend escape for you.

A typical day
Wake up with a cooked breakfast or cereal, plus fresh coffee or a selection of tea. Re-energise with yoga or get ready to hit the trail. We’ll walk at a moderate pace to suit everyone and your guides will ensure no-one is ever left behind. Lunch may be out on a walk or enjoyed back at the accommodation depending on our schedule, and in the afternoon you get to sit by the fire, jump in the spa or sauna, or enjoy an optional massage. We’ll also make sure you have optional fitness sessions, workshops or more time to enjoy the beautiful grounds throughout the weekend. Plus you’ll be delighted by the delicious dinners and the time to kick back and relax.

Set deep in the forest, the stunning grounds of Hazledene will leave you feeling that you are a million miles from anywhere. A short drive from Yarra Junction and only 70 minutes from Melbourne, it is nestled amongst towering Mountain Ash and one of Victoria’s best secret retreats. With twin share ensuite rooms that have sweeping balconies overlooking the lake and forest, plus resort-like facilities of a spa, sauna and swimming pool, plus tennis court. There are two intimate areas with fireplaces to sit and relax, and altogether comprises the opportunities to make your weekend retreat in the Yarra Valley region.


The food will be provided by our very own adventure chef to prepare and cook your delicious and nutritious dinner, lunches, all snacks and breakfast. We love our food so be prepared to have freshly ground coffee, yummy snacks and fresh fruit, beautiful vegetable based salads, wraps and cheeses. We’ll also have yummy desserts and you are welcome to bring a drink to share amongst new friends.

We take on all the cooking and planning for you, and all you need to do is be present!

Day 1

Arrive around 2pm to settle in and unwind. Take a walk around the property, maybe a quick hit of tennis, enjoy a massage, sit by the fire, or jump in the spa or sauna. The afternoon is yours to unwind and start to recover, before dinner and a relaxing drink.

Day 2

Wake up with a cooked breakfast or cereal, plus fresh coffee or a selection of tea. Re-energise with yoga or get ready to hit the trail. We’ll have a short to moderate walk today around the forest tracks. This is a huge benefit of our wonderful venue, as the walk starts right from the front door. We’ll get the fire burning in the late afternoon and what a difference it makes to sit in such a relaxing location. You have some time to enjoy a spa or sauna, or take an optional massage. We’ll make sure there is a cardio option today for those who love their weekend fitness, plus a workshop or more time to enjoy the beautiful grounds before dinner and a relaxing drink.

Day 3

Some more early morning yoga and delicious breakfast with the only sounds being the birds chirping and maybe some frogs down near the lake. We’ll walk some local trails again today to make the most of the beautiful scenery and enjoy delicious food in the relaxing atmosphere. This is when you really start to wind down and realise that you needed a break. In the early afternoon we’ll have a range of options to ensure you get the most from the weekend and we'll wrap up around 3pm leaving you plenty of time to make the drive to wherever you need to go, and maintain that relaxed feeling.

This is one of our most common questions, and our recommendation is that for most of our day walks you should wear your most comfortable footwear. Don’t wear your old hiking boots from 20 years ago, and don’t wear thongs or sandals. Bottom line is your runners are probably the best choice unless you have some comfortable hiking shoes or trail runners. In some circumstances you may want footwear with better grip than runners, particularly for muddy winter walks. If you are still in doubt, bring along both pairs and get our guides recommendation on the day.

Self drive to accommodation, carpooling may be required to the start of hikes.

All our trips include our awesome TSA guides, accommodation, all your meals, beverages, access, permits, and all extras such as gear, activites, climbs, rafting, caving or any of the other exciting activities that appears on our tours. There is never any more to pay, unless you want to buy your own things like a coffee, souvenirs etc.

As with all of our events, our trips vary in length and difficulty. We suggest you look at the grading provided and have a browse through the itinerary distances. If you can walk 20km day after day then you’ll be fine for the Larapinta Trek, or you may be more suited to wandering around the Bay of Fires and more leisurely beach walking. Remember that you will have weeks to months to build up your fitness before the trip – which we can help with! If still in doubt, give us a call

Hiking Footwear Buying Guide

One of the common questions we get asked is "what pair of hiking shoes should I wear to come to join you?". The first thing we say is "always wear something that is comfortable". So if it is your first day hiking and it's a grade two or three hike you are better off wearing your runners than you are buying a pair of hiking shoes or boots specifically for that event.

Hiking Boots or Shoes?

Close your eyes and think of a traditional image of a hiker, are you seeing someone with a pair of Scarpa boots, a big pack, and all the gear?

Tripping in the snow

Not all that long ago, if you had suggested I go camping in the snow I would have laughed at you. Then the snow started falling early in our snow season, the bookings started rolling in and it looked like TSA would need more than two guides on their Mt Stirling snow hikes

Most of the people that come on our tours come by themselves. Our community is built on friendships that have been made on our trips, experiencing something life changing together, the shared memories and also goals to do more in the future! We encourage people not to be anxious about coming on these trips by yourself as we promise you will leave with some like minded friends and be really glad you made the decision to get out of your comfort zone and join in.
