Overview
Whether you’re training for a difficult overseas trek or just want to complete the best mountain climb near Melbourne, this Mount Donna Buang day hike is for you, shooting up 1170 vertical metres in 4km, this track comes into its own as a venue for pushing those lungs and legs.
This is a great combination of steep, sustained climbing with awesome views as the reward. Please Note: This is a longer and more challenging hike. While our goal is to finish by 4 PM, please keep in mind that as a group, the pace may vary, and the hike could take longer. Conditions at the top can be significantly colder, so be sure to bring extra warm clothes to layer on. Even in dry conditions, parts of the trail can be slippery. Walking poles can be helpful, and it’s essential that your footwear has good grip.

What our adventurers have said
Thanks so much to the guide Nat. I know I swore a lot on the way down, as I was slipping and sliding all over the place, but I'm feeling a massive sense of achievement now. - Laura Catherine
