Sealers Cove is one of our most popular overnight walks. A spectacular little cove, where the mountains of the promontory collide stunningly with the sea, bordered by beautiful lichen-covered boulders. You’ll spend the night under the stars, hearing the rustle of leaves in the wind, and the trickle of the tidal Sealers Creek.

This walk is one of our favourites, because it is breathtakingly beautiful, and yet accessible as a first overnight walk. The track is varied, and comprises flat boardwalk sections through lush forest (keep an eye out for weird and wonderful fungi and brightly-coloured wild flowers), as well as some steeper sections where you can test your legs!

All this is topped off by a delicious healthy lunch, dinner and snacks, and a fun, social group atmosphere. Our guides will carry the extra equipment, and prepare dinner at the end of the day, making it easy for you to relax and enjoy yourself!

Itinerary

Day 1 Day 1

Meet at the Yanakie Hall and go over our gear, distribute food and ensure that everyone has what they need and is not carrying too much. We’ll carpool from here down to Tidal River and then grab a 5 minute shuttle bus to the trail head. Heading off uphill for a while and over Windy Saddle for lunch before the long descent down the other side to spring out onto Sealers Beach. Easy! We then wander the beach before the crossing of Sealers Creek. We always try to get the tides right to ensure you cross near low tide, however sometimes a deeper crossing is required and our guides are there to lend a helping hand. Explore the beach and have a dip in summer and enjoy a meal prepared by our staff.

Day 2 Day 2

Up for a quick stretch session on the beach, or have a relaxing morning before we get the ride right again and cross back over the creek. Wander along the beach and make the start the hardest part of the weekend which is the climb out back up to Windy Saddle. Have a break here and some lunch then settle in for the more leisurely last few km back to the trail head. Jump on the bus back down the mountain, grab a cold drink at the shop and jump in cars to drive out of the Park back to the meeting point by late afternoon.
