Wild Slovenia
The Julian Alps, at your own intensity.
Eight days in the corner of Europe that packs a whole continent into one small, staggering range. Glacial lakes you’ll want to swim in. A river so green it looks lit from below. High alpine trails through Triglav National Park, hairpin passes, and villages that still feel like a secret. This is Slovenia at its wildest and most welcoming, and it’s the perfect companion to our Albania tour: already in Europe, already in your stride, now the wind-down with a wild streak.
You choose your intensity. The heart of the week is the walking, and it’s glorious. On top of that sits a layer of optional adventure you can add if the mood takes you: clip into a via ferrata, raft the emerald Soca, drop into a cave. Take all three, take none, mix and match. Every one has a beautiful walking alternative included, so there’s no pressure and nobody’s counting.

Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive in Bohinj
We collect you from Ljubljana and drive up into the quiet heart of the national park, to Lake Bohinj: bigger, wilder and far less crowded than its famous neighbour Bled. Settle in, stretch your legs on an optional lakeside stroll, then a welcome dinner with the mountains waiting outside the window.
Drive: Ljubljana to Bohinj, about 1 hr 15, 85 km.

Day 2 Into the alps: Mostnica and the Voje valley
A gentle warm-up to find your rhythm: along the sculpted Mostnica gorge, where the water has carved the rock into pools and arches, up into the green hanging valley of Voje. Waterfalls, wildflower meadows, cowbells. The perfect first-day reintroduction to your legs.

Day 3 Seven Lakes Valley
The signature day, and a real one. A steep, rewarding climb up the Komarca wall brings you into the Valley of the Triglav Lakes, a chain of high glacial pools strung through the mountains deep in the national park. Remote, dramatic, unforgettable. This is the day you’ll be telling people about. A packed trail lunch keeps you going.

Day 4 North to Kranjska Gora, then your choice
A scenic transfer to the alpine village of Kranjska Gora, tucked under the peaks near the Austrian and Italian borders. This afternoon, your first optional adventure.
Optional: guided via ferrata (add $170). Clip into the steel cables and climb a rock route with a guide and full equipment. Exhilarating, secure, and a genuine sense of achievement for anyone comfortable with heights.
Included alternative: the Zelenci and Jasna lakes walk. An easy 6 km, ~100 m, roughly 2 hrs, past a spring-fed emerald wetland reserve and a pair of mirror-still alpine lakes. Flat, gorgeous, no cables required.
Drive: Bohinj to Kranjska Gora, about 1 hr 20, 65 km.

Day 5 Vrsic Pass to Slemenova Spica
Up the 24 hairpin bends of Slovenia’s highest pass to the trailhead at 1,611 m, then out to Slemenova Spica, one of the most photographed viewpoints in the alps, staring straight at the fang of Jalovec. Big mountain theatre for a moderate effort. Pure joy at the top.
Drive: about 30 minutes each way up the pass.

Day 6 Over the pass to the Soca valley
We cross the Vrsic Pass, one of the great alpine drives, and drop into the valley of the emerald river, one of the most beautiful stretches of water in Europe. Then your choice.
Optional: Soca rafting (add $95). About 2.5 hours on the water with a guide and all gear, through green pools and lively rapids. Wetsuits on, grins guaranteed.
Included alternative: the Soca Trail. A riverside walk of ~7 km, ~150 m, roughly 2.5 hrs, following the water past gorges and swimming holes, with a dose of the valley’s poignant WWI history along the way.
Drive: Kranjska Gora to Bovec over the pass, about 1 hr 15, 50 km.

Day 7 Underground, or unwound
A slower day, your way.
Optional: adventure caving (add $115). A half-day guided descent into the karst underworld with a guide and equipment, for the curious and the up-for-it.
Included alternative: a free day. Walk to the Boka waterfall viewpoint, spin out on an e-bike, find a spa, or do gloriously nothing by the river with a book.

Day 8 Farewell
A last alpine breakfast, then a scenic transfer back to Ljubljana for your onward flight, with a camera roll you won’t quite believe.
Drive: Bovec to Ljubljana airport, about 2 hrs 15, 135 km.

Trip summary
This is a base-camp style alpine week: three villages, day walks out and back, and a proper bed every night, so you get big mountain days with real recovery in between. It’s designed as the perfect companion to our Albania tour, starting a few days after Albania finishes, though it stands beautifully on its own. The social side is central to the TSA experience: shared trails, shared tables, and a small private group that feels like old friends by the Soca.
How hard is it?
Graded Moderate. If you can enjoy a full day’s walk in the hills, you’ll be at home here. There’s one challenging alpine day (Seven Lakes, with around 1,000 m of climbing) and the rest sits at easy to moderate. It’s a gentler trip than Albania, not a harder one. Every adrenaline activity is optional with a lovely walking alternative, so you set your own pace. This is a mixed group, open to everyone.
Single supplement
Yes, a single supplement is available for the 7-night tour. The additional cost is $1,095. You can request this on the ticket purchase or after by emailing us directly, and we will send a separate invoice.
Doing Albania too?
