Come and join us for this first foray back into the real world! No more virtual hiking – this is the real deal, you can actually hike in the forest, somehow get cold and sweaty at the same time and then enjoy our delicious food whilst you get ready to sleep in the great outdoors. Bring your hiking buddy, share a tent, borrow one of ours or just really get into the spirit and sleep on the ground. This is a lovely walk suitable for beginners and interesting enough for everyone. So if you’ve been desperate to get outside and just want to enjoy some outdoors then jump on this first opportunity. Approximately 10km each day through the lovely Brisbane Ranges, great terrain for hiking and camping. Especially at the start of winter.

We know you want to get out and so we’ve getting the goods together for a double day walk. You’ve been virtual hiking for months now and you want to stretch the legs, feel the dirt under your feet and smell the wet forest and you get gently smacked in the face by the branches Or maybe you haven’t walked into a cobweb in a while and you’re just dying to be at the front of the group and earn praise for clearing the way the track.
This adventure weekend will have you walking the tracks and trails of the Brisbane Ranges for two days, plus you get some comfort because we’ll be camping next our vehicles. Overview

Location: Dandenongs and Olina
Grade: 4
Distance: 18km

Picture perfect Olinda Falls is located in the Dandenong Ranges, just an hour from Melbourne’s CBD. 

The walk is 18km, where we will embark up the hill to reach the top of the falls themselves. With the cold fresh air, our group will look picture perfect in their array of bright Goretex jackets. With viewing areas for both the upper and lower falls, we will enjoy a yummy morning tea as well as an indulgent, but well deserved lunch. Hopefully we will also here a delightful chorus of different native birds to keep us company along the path! The colored trees of the arboretum will hopefully still be putting on a display and seeing the change in vegetation is a unique part of this day out.

This walk will take in a range of tracks in the Kurth Kiln Forest and be a grade 3 walk at 14km long. The forest is typical of Melbourne’s east and the day out may be pretty cool still so be prepared for any weather. The wide tracks certainly make it easy to create a day full of chatter as you catch up with old and new friends and enjoy one of these pleasant walks.

What is packless hiking?

Packless hiking is your opportunity to enjoy multiple days on the trail without having to carry a big rucksack or sleep in a tent. You head out in the morning with a small day bag, some water and maybe a jacket and our guides carry your lunch and anything else you may require for the day. Enjoy a lovely lunch with salads, cheese, crackers, fresh fruit and a range of other produce all suited to your dietary requirements. You can then enjoy the rest of your walk and focus on the scenery and the enjoyment of being out on the trail. Tired at the end? Well now you get to stay in bed for the night! This is the wonderful aspect of packless weekends. Enjoy a dinner prepared by our multi-talented crew and then rest well and be ready for the next day on the trail. Could exploring be any better than this?

Itinerary

Inclusive of all meals and accommodation:

Friday
You can arrive anytime from 6pm onwards and we’ll be there to greet you.

Enjoy a 2 course dinner and a relaxing drink. Settle in for the evening and get to know your fellow hikers, relax and unwind.

Saturday
Jump out of bed nice and early for a delicious healthy cooked breakfast.
Grab your daypack and off we go. You’ll be out on the trail all day and our guides will be there to support, encourage, guide and feed you all day.

Today we’ll head from Tidal River around the three bays including some classic locations such as Picnic, Whisky and Squeaky Beaches! Enjoy a snack on the beach or one of the majestic views from the lookouts.
Enjoy a lovely lunch out on the trail.

You’ll now get to head up one of the more interesting mountains in the entire Park, with a summit walk up to Mt Bishop. With its massive slab, and view able from lots of locations within the Park, its a very distinctive location. Not to mention the world famous photos you can take from the summit.
A short trip will see you back at the accommodation usually by late afternoon so you can spend a little while relaxing with a cuppa and putting your feet up. This is important as you’ll have another day on the trail tomorrow!

Enjoy another delicious home cooked dinner and dessert.
Find somewhere to watch the sunset and then snuggle down into your bed for a great night’s sleep.

Sunday
A yummy breakfast
Pack up and head to the trail for another day of exploring.
Today we’ll start with the picturesque walk along Tongue Point and Fairy Cove. Bring your bathers as we may have a quick dip! This beautiful walk along the coast lets you gaze over blue waters, white sands, granite rocks and is one best lesser known walks.

You’ll enjoy yet another beautiful location for lunch.
In the early afternoon we’ll have you wandering across paddocks (well almost) to Big Drift where you can explore and photograph the biggest dunes in the Park and roll down them if that excites you!
We’ll wrap up around 3-4 pm leaving you plenty of time to make the drive home, and maintain that relaxed feeling.

Overview

Location: Mount Macedon
Grade: 4
Distance: 18km

Mount Macedon is one of the highest peaks in the ranges and you can enjoy magnificent views from the Mount Macedon Memorial Cross and the Camels Hump. We have to work pretty hard to get up to these wonderful views and this will get heart rates up for sure. This walk explores the full length of the Macedon Circuit and is over 17km in length so be prepared for a long day out as this is one of longer walks.

As always TSA will make sure you have all the food, support and encouragement you need to ensure you have a great day and not only achieve your goals but enjoy yourself along the way. Nice and close to Melbourne this is an easy walk to get to and well worth the day out.

Come and join us and explore this awesome mountain area. Although long, this is not a technical walk and uses well formed trails.

Location: Sugarloaf

Distance: 18km

This pleasant grade 3 walk around Sugarloaf and Christmas Hills is a wonderfully scenic walk with few ups and downs. So if you’re in the mood for a straight wander, then this is your chance to get in some uncommonly flat TSA miles!
With great views and hopefully some morning wildlife, you’ll be walking and chatting to your hearts content. Passing over Eagle Point which is the highest point in the park, you’ll be able to gaze out over the Sugarloaf Reservoir, constructed in 1981 and now forms an integral part of Melbourne Water supply system.

There is nothing like Australia’s Great Ocean Walk located on the Great Ocean Road region between Apollo Bay and the iconic Twelve Apostles, hugging the coastline for more than 100km. On this 3 day section around Cape Otway, you can feel nature’s drama unfolding at every step, and every day is different.

Create your own unique experience and discover this section of wonderful Australian coastline as you walk beneath tall trees, across rock seashore platforms, along deserted beaches and soak in breathtaking cliff-top vistas. Overview

Location: Masons Falls
Grade: 3
Distance: 14km

This Masons Falls Circuit is a pleasant hike through the regenerating bush that clearly shows the impact of the Kinglake fires. There are large parts of the track that did seem to escape the tragic fires. Plus the Masons Falls are quite spectacular, and worth the walk with us. Our walk starts with a long steep descent, and we mean right down to the bottom where the walk intersects with a small stream and a refreshing break from the thigh burning track. Don’t worry though because there is no more downhill!! As we then start the slow ascent back through majestic forests to lunch and past Masons Falls before going onto single track and finishing the ascent right back up to the summit carpark where we started.

Itinerary

Inclusive of all meals and accommodation:

Day 1

You can arrive anytime from 6pm onwards and we’ll be there to greet you. Enjoy a 2 course dinner and a relaxing drink. Settle in for the evening and get to know your fellow hikers, relax and unwind.

Day 2

Jump out of bed nice and early for a delicious healthy cooked breakfast. Grab your daypack and off we go. You’ll be out on the trail all day and our guides will be there to support, encourage, guide and feed you all day. Today we’ll head from Halls Gap up past some classic Grampians locations such as Splitters Falls, Silent Street and up to the Pinnacles for a snack at the awesome lookout. Enjoy a lovely lunch out on the trail. An exciting descent will have you back at Halls Gap for a coffee or ice-cream!

A short trip will see you back at the accommodation usually by late afternoon so you can spend a little while relaxing with a cuppa and putting your feet up. This is important as you’ll have another day on the trail tomorrow! Enjoy another delicious home cooked dinner and dessert. Find somewhere to watch the sunset and then snuggle down into your bed for a great night’s sleep

Day 3

A yummy breakfast Pack up and head to the trail for another day of exploring. Depending on the weather and the group, we will head up Boronia Peak, explore MacKenzies Falls or take you an alternative walk.

You’ll enjoy yet another beautiful location for lunch as you make your way around the famous Grampians National Park and get back to your start location early in the afternoon. We’ll wrap up around 3-4 pm leaving you plenty of time to make the drive to where-ever you need to go, and maintain that relaxed feeling.

Overview

Our goals for overnight snow camping is to give you a chance to experience something truly unique (particularly in Australia) and do so safely and in relative comfort. It will be challenging, fun, social and achievable!

This is an opportunity to discover adventure, new friends and feel amazed and proud of your experience. Sleeping in a tent is s pretty cool experience, but sleeping in a tent IN THE SNOW is a story you can tell people for a long long time…

We can loan you gear including a rucksack, tent and sleeping mat, but you will need to beg, borrow or steal a sleeping bag.  We also recommend you bring a sleeping bag liner and a few other things to make your night as comfortable as possible. We’ll give you guidance as to how to make yourself as warm as possible.

We will arrange all the food and cooking equipment but please leave a small amount of space in your rucksack to add some food.

The weekend will go like this:

Day One
– Meet Saturday lunchtime at Erica to organise gear, arrange car pooling, grab snow chains (volunteer vehicles will be required)
– Head to Mt St Gwinear carpark and walk uphill for approximately 1.5 – 2km with rucksacks to Jeep Flat.
– Pitch tents, have dinner, do some pushups and hop into bed.

Day Two
– Get out of bed, quick breakfast and go for a short explore without rucksacks
– After lunch we’ll pack tents and walk back down to the vehicles arriving back n Erica around mid to late afternoon.

You don’t need to be super fit as we don’t walk far, however the terrain can be tough depending on snow coverage. Since this experience is about being in the snow and camping, we do not use snow shoes to walk is so you can expect to sink into the wet white stuff a fair bit.  We will be there though to support and encourage you and laugh a little when you fall – in the nicest possible way! What you really need for this weekend is a positive ‘give it a go’ attitude.

**This tour will only go ahead if the weather on the proposed weekend is suitable**
If the weather is considerate unsafe or unsuitable to provide a reasonable experience then we will postpone the weekend, if you can’t attend the proposed new date you will receive a full credit.

If the tour cannot proceed on wither date, all participant will receive a full credit.

Overview

Rising steeply from the plains north of Melbourne, the Cathedral Ranges are a prominent sight when travelling north. Visualise sitting atop the peak, gazing out over Victoria’s mountain ranges and feeling euphoric at having made the ascent. This can be you!

After a long steady uphill start, the track turns into a sensational walk up the side of the ranges to Mt Cathedral involving some exposed climbing and very steep ascents. You then carefully make your way along the challenging and rewarding razorback. This very technical track has a few tricky sections where we will be there to lend a hand, plus consistent technical walking. After a yummy healthy lunch and magnificent scenery we start the highly stepped descent back to river level before the flat walk back to the start. You’ll be feeling inspired and proud of your achievements after this exhilarating day out.

This is a GRADE 5 walk.

This is your opportunity to use that fitness. Make this your goal and we’ll help you achieve it. Challenge yourself and bring your fitness to life!

Overview

Location: Three Lost Children
Grade: 3
Distance: 10km7

This walk commemorates the tragic story from Daylesford’s gold era when three small boys wandered away from their homes in Daylesford in 1867. Despite a massive and lengthy search effort the boys were not found alive.

The Three Lost Children walk follows the approximate route the boys walked. The walk will take you through bush landscapes that were once active goldfields, and now part of the Wombat State Forest and the Hepburn Regional Park. Along the walk you will see the remnants of gold mines, water races and tramways.

You’ll know the town, you may know the area, but this hidden walk will make you gaze around as you traverse a hidden canyon in the foothills of the Otways, be refreshed by cool waterfall mist and of course get that heart pumping with some of the uphill stuff. All in all a great day out, filled with company, scenery, fitness and our usual taste for some adventure.

This is a new style of adventure from the TSA team! Enjoy our usual combination of great walking and social atmosphere, and mix it with some local Red Hill produce and a refreshing beverage or two. You’ll get to experience some unexpected delights on this walk where we have managed to combine the best of both local bushland tracks and trails with local wineries to boot! Enjoy a cider paddle, sample some wines and enjoy gourmet morning tea, before heading bush again for your usual social walking. We expect the conversation to be flowing very well. We’ve also planned it so that you have a few km’s of walking before the finish. We have a strict limit of 16 people for this walk so we encourage you to book quick.

Day 1

Early pick up from Darwin airport/city. Visit Corroboree wetlands then drive into Ubirrr to
watch the sunset over the Arnhem Land. Accommodation at Anbinik Resort.

Day 2

Early start to Jim Jim Falls and walk to both the top of bottom of the falls. Spend time in
the magnificent plunge pools. Accommodation at Anbinik Resort.

Day 3

Heading into Kakadu, we visit Maguk (Barramundi Gorge). Visit Ikoymarrwa (Moline
Rockhole) which is a special permit area rarely visited. Accommodation camping in swags and
tents with a campfire near Mary River Roadhouse.

Day 4

Explore the southern end of Kakadu and Jarrangbarnmi (Koolpin Gorge). Finish the day
with a walk and swim in the plunge pool at Gunlom Falls. Accommodation camping in swags
and tents with a campfire near Mary River Roadhouse.

Day 5

Depart Kakadu for Nitmiluk National Park and Edith Falls. A longer hike and swim, then
visit the hot springs, before some down time! Accommodation Knotts Crossing Resort, Katherine

Day 6

Sunrise over Katherine Gorge whilst enjoying some breakfast before a canoe and walk day
to explore the gorge. Accommodation at Pine Creek Railway Resort.

Day 7

Today is spent exploring Litchfield National Park. Hiking and swimming at Green Ant
Creek, Buley Rockholes, Wangi Falls and Walker Creek.Drive back to Darwin Airport.

Overview

Location: Labertouche
Grade: 4
Distance: 14km

Join us on this interesting walk to stroll around the tracks and trails or the Labertouche geological Reserve. is a stream passage cave developed in Tynong Granite, and as well as walking, provides some wonderful caving opportunities (not to worry we’ll be staying above ground on this trip)! Possibly some muddy sections and a mixture of four-wheel drive tracks and walking trails will allow us to explore this lower section of the Bunyip State Park.

Itinerary

Day 1

• Pick up from Sydney Airport and drive out to the Blue Mountains where we to take you on a trek to our favorite swimming hole, after lunch we visit the Katoomba, the 3 Sisters and Giant Stairway before heading to our accommodation.

Day 2

• An early start to Wentworth Falls where we walk to Valley of the Waters via the National Pass. We then head back for a yoga and stretch session and some fun activities.

Day 3

• Another awesome walk to the Grand Canyon and Govetts Leap. Relax with a wine and cheese night. hikes. For
  the first sessions, you will walk for 3-4 hours to Shira 1 camp.
• You will have a lunch stop and short break, and you will cover
  distance of 4.5miles/7km.
• After lunch, you will hike for about 4-5 hours to cover the distance of 5.5miles/9km. You will also cross the middle of Shira Plateau, a world heritage site through moorland zone, and arrive in the beautiful overnight camp located at the base of a massive lava flow.

Day 4

• Our last walk steep and stairy walk to Laura Cascades before a short drive and the exhilarating Grose River High Ropes course. Back on the bus to the Airport.

Overview

An opportunity for you to join and the ultimate hiking adventure that you NEED to tick off your bucket list. There is a good reason that the Larapinta Trail is amongst the most legendary walks in the world. Spend five days on some of the most epic walks in Australia and stay in accommodation EVERY NIGHT, enabling you to cover almost 100km of the best parts of the trail.

We will be transferring you on and off the track and stay in twin share accommodation in Alice Springs and Glen Helen Homestead, where you will get a cooked meal, a hot shower and comfortable bed. What to expect:

Grading – Hard

Just a note of caution some of the trails contain difficult sections, however our experienced guides will always be there to assist you. Participants should expect around 6-8 hours walking each day and the treks will vary in conditions. There will be soft sand, uneven rocks, steps, and possibly some small sections of scrambling. The distances will vary between 9km up to 22km and agility will be important and as with any of our tours the fitter you are for the activity, the more your attention moves from looking at your feet to experiencing your surrounds. Train for uneven terrain by finding rough tracks, even just your local park or sports field, and go for a lovely long walk in your both your best and back-up footwear.

Dietary Requirements

Provided we are advised in advance of your departure we are able to cater for a full range of gluten free, lactose free, vegan, vegetarian diets and can assist with medically recommended diets (allergies and intolerances). Please ensure you discuss your requirements with us well in advance.

Arrive in Alice Springs, we will pick you up from Airport and transfer you to your accommodation for the first three nights. We will go through gear, and have a briefing

Day 2

Standley Chasm – Section 3 high route circuit. Very hard. 20km -10hrs. Long, and steep, steps, scrambling, awesome views – optional stay on low route

Day 3

Standley Chasm – Section 4 Brinkley Bluff return. Very Hard. 20km -10hrs. River bed walking then a long steady climb – optional shorter distance

Day 4

Serpentine Chalet Dam – Serpentine Gorge. Section 9. Hard. 20km -7hrs. One way walk with a steep climb, ridgeline and views. Then drive to new accommodation

Day 5

Finke River – Ormiston Gorge circuit. Section 10 Medium 17km -7hrs. Fantastic circuit walk. Optional shorter distance.

Day 6

Mt Sonder return. Section 12. Hard. 16km – 6hrs. Up early to watch sunrise. Redbank Gorge optional extra. Transfer to Alice Springs for celebration dinner out. Resort accommodation to relax and recover

Day 1

You can arrive anytime from 6pm onwards and we’ll be there to greet you. Enjoy a 2 course dinner and a relaxing drink. Settle in for the evening and get to know your fellow hikers, relax and unwind.

Day 2

Jump out of bed nice and early for a delicious healthy cooked breakfast. Grab your daypack and off we go. You’ll be out on the trail all day and our guides will be there to support, encourage, guide and feed you all day. Today we’ll head from Halls Gap up past some classic Grampians locations such as Splitters Falls, Silent Street and up to the Pinnacles for a snack at the awesome lookout. Enjoy a lovely lunch out on the trail. An exciting descent will have you back at Halls Gap for a coffee or ice-cream!

A short trip will see you back at the accommodation usually by late afternoon so you can spend a little while relaxing with a cuppa and putting your feet up. This is important as you’ll have another day on the trail tomorrow! Enjoy another delicious home cooked dinner and dessert. Find somewhere to watch the sunset and then snuggle down into your bed for a great night’s sleep

Day 3

A yummy breakfast Pack up and head to the trail for another day of exploring. Depending on the weather and the group, we will head up Boronia Peak, explore MacKenzies Falls or take you an alternative walk.

You’ll enjoy yet another beautiful location for lunch as you make your way around the famous Grampians National Park and get back to your start location early in the afternoon. We’ll wrap up around 3-4 pm leaving you plenty of time to make the drive to where-ever you need to go, and maintain that relaxed feeling.

Overview

French Island is in the heart of Westernport Bay and offers tranquil surroundings and pristine flora and fauna. With next to no traffic, thousands of koalas and plenty of history this makes for a perfect overnight hike. This trip includes ferry fees, camping permits, professional guides and yummy home cooked food!

If you have never done an overnight hike or you’re unsure about carrying a pack, then you really should make the most from this opportunity. We only carry our backpacks for the first 5km, then set up camp and continue with day bags to explore the wilderness and easy tracks around the Island. This short rucksacks carry also means we can afford to take a few more of life’s luxuries or to test gear that you are unfamiliar with. Maybe even something to sit on!

With great proximity to Melbourne, this is an wonderful opportunity to explore a part of Victoria that is not often visited yet offers some of the best walking right on our doorstep.

Itinerary

• Meet at Stony Point where we will jump aboard the ferry and ride across to French Island. Once there we take the coast track for 5km to our camp site. We will set up our tents, grab a snack and head off again with our day packs for a 11km walk to the Pinnacle Lookout. When we maybe have time to dip your toes before enjoying a yummy home cooked dinner and a glass of wine.

Day 2

• Up for a yoga stretch session on the beach before/after a yummy warm breakfast and then head off for a relaxing packless walk along the shoreline to the northern part of the Island. We will have lunch back at camp then head back along the coast track to the ferry across to the mainland.

If you love walking and you’d like to explore some more of Melbourne with a great paddle down our iconic river then take this opportunity. What an opportunity to explore both up and down one of the best sections of urban Melbourne – without feeling as though you’re in the suburbs at all. We’ll take all our special tracks on the walk and you’ll be amazed at how much bushland walking we can find for you. From the well known pathways through to little side tracks and sneaky little shortcuts – we’ll have you well and truly lost in your surroundings in no time. Enjoy a yummy lunch on the banks of the river before going through a quick safety briefing and getting ready to paddle!

You’ll feel safe and secure in our stable sit-on-top boats, and have the complete attention of our certified and experienced guides. Jump on board and practice some strokes before paddling and drifting down the mighty Yarra River. Although it’s right there flowing through our wonderful city, and you’ve all definitely heard of it – to be on it, floating down with the current and seeing for yourself the way it winds through native forest, past some of the biggest houses in Melbourne and chatting about the way we’ve used and abusing it over the years is a great experience for anyone living amongst it’s many tributaries!

No paddling experience is necessary for this event so take this opportunity to join us on something a little different.

18 people maximum on this event. Minimum age is 14 years. Weight limit 100kg.

Itinerary:

Itinerary
Day 1:
9am pick up from Adelaide Airport. Drive to the spectacular Alligator Gorge where we get the legs moving on a short walk before making our way to Rawnsley Park.

Day 2:
A double peak day! We head into Wilpena Pound to do our first walk to Mt Ohlssen Bagge, followed by a look around the Pound. We head back to our accommodation for some recovery time before heading off for a late afternoon to walk up Rawnsley Bluff.

Day 3:
A pre-dawn start for our 10 hour walk to St Mary’s Peak. You can choose to climb to the saddle, and those with the legs can continue up to the peak. Back to accommodation for a swim and the last night dinner and a chat around the fire.

Day 4:
Pack up and head back towards Adelaide visiting Point Germain Pier, and having lunch beside the longest pier in the southern hemisphere, then continuing to Adelaide in time for your flight home.ip.

EQUIPMENT

Nothing specific, just some activewear, at least 2 good pairs of walking shoes, a day bag. A drink container or bladder to hold at least 3 litres of water. Walking poles are optional but useful in this terrain. We will provide a full pack list prior to the tour.

CLIMATE

The climate high up on the mountains can vary considerably. Milder temperatures down in the valleys and at town may be replaced with cold winds up high, or conversely a hot day can be very exposed above the snowline so sunburn is a big factor. The nights and early mornings can also often be cold, so to sum up, make sure you have warm and wet weather gear, plus a hat and sunscreen!

Insurance

TSA is a licensed operator in Victoria and will provide fully qualified remote area first aid support. As this is a remote area, we recommend all participants have Travel Insurance with emergency rescue or are Ambulance Victoria Members.

Itinerary

Our itinerary is a guide, we are a fully supportive and encouraging GROUP tour. The days may change with weather forecasts. Weather factors including but not limited to storms, lightning, floods and fires may change the itinerary. The itinerary may also change due to the overall group fitness. The itinerary has been put together to give you the maximum amount of adventure with the least amount of time wasted – true TSA fashion. There will also be scheduled down time for recovery.
Whether you want to get out on foot and tick off some bucket-list walks, saddle up and have some fun on horseback, or tumble over rapids in pristine rivers, we’ve got you covered! In four days and three nights you will experience the usual fun, adventure and laughs, all while being looked after by your experienced TSA Guides.

Day 1

• Travel from Melbourne to Myrtleford for lunch, enjoy a tasting at Michelini Wines and an opportunity to stretch your legs on the Ovens River Trail. We will arrive at our accommodation in the early afternoon, with time to settle in before our first horse ride. Fill your lungs with mountain air and take in the spectacular scenery as the experienced guides help you saddle up and explore. Relax with dinner and a glass of wine before getting a good night’s rest. 

Day 2

• Wake up to a hearty breakfast and fresh coffee! We then head out for our first High Country hike. Following some of the Australian Alpine Walking Track, we will hike through the alpine meadows of the Bogong High Plains before heading to the summit of Mt Nelse. 14km, Grade 3, 5 hours. Returning to our accommodation, you will have a chance to explore the farm or put your feet up in the riders lounge. Wrap up the day with a sunset walk and healthy dinner. 

Day 3

• Early start today as we have breakfast, jump on the bus and head off for one of the most iconic walks in Victoria – Razorback Ridge – Mt Feathertop. Enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding alps as we hike the ridge before taking on the last steep climb to the summit. The 360 degree view makes it all worth it! 20km, Grade 4, 7 hours. Returning to our accommodation we will take you through a whole body stretch session to relieve sore and tired muscles before celebrating our achievements and relaxing in the cosy comfort of our rooms. 

Day 4

• Head out after breakfast for a morning horse ride before we say goodbye to our farm stay hosts and four legged friends. Stopping off in Bright you will have the opportunity to discover the Bright Brewery with a tour & tasting. Enjoy a Picnic lunch at Eurobin Falls before returning to Melbourne.

Day 1

We will pick you up at Launceston Airport or from the Grand Chancellor Hotel in Launceston, before heading straight off to our first event, Quamby Bluff, an outlying hill of the Western Tiers and a pretty steep 6km hike to the top, taking 4-5hrs. This challenging walk is incredibly rewarding as you travel through ferns and forest until reaching the big scree boulders then the steep and winding ascent to the top (1250m). We will then head to our accommodation for our first yummy dinner, and a relaxing evening.

Day 2

We head over to Honeycomb caves, where you will be and harnessed in before you abseil into a cave, on our 10m abseiling morning. You will then walk out under head torch, it’s such a rush! Of course we will be there to support and guide you. You will be able to do this multiple times!!! The afternoon will be spent walking to Westmoreland Waterfall walk. A chance to relax the heart rate and shaky legs as we meander the ferns and native bush on this very scenic and beautiful walk.

Day 3

Up early for a drive to Sheffield where we will walk our longest of the tour up Mt Roland, grade 4, 18 km/6hr before finishing the day admiring and quick mural crossword puzzle with coffee in hand in and around the famous murals of Sheffield. Before heading home for an optional stretch session.

Day 4

An optional pre-breakfast morning fast hike to Alum Cliffs or a little bit of a sleep in on our last day before we head back to Launceston via a little honey tasting shop. We’ll then drive to Cataract Gorge where we will do a 8km grade 3 spectacular walk. We’ll take the scenic route first along the rough track with a few ups and downs then explore the Basin before heading to the pump house and back down wandering along the easy track. The gorge is a spectacular place to visit, with Peacocks roaming the lawns and the suspension bridge. We’ll have you back at the Airport with plenty of time to relax, share some photos and chill out before the short hop home. For those staying in Launceston we recommend a tour of the James Boags Brewery)

Accommodation

Mole Creek Cottages.

The rooms are twin share, with a communal kitchen and dining area. Plenty of room to relax. Please note there is very little reception or mobile coverage in some parts of Tasmania.

Itinerary

Day 1

• Travel from Melbourne to Mt Buffalo where we will stretch our legs with a short summit walk to the Horn where you can take in the sights of surrounding mountains, boulders and snow gums. Return to the picnic area for lunch before we set off on an afternoon hike to explore The Monolith and Lake Catani. Immerse yourself in this beautiful National Park visiting the rugged rock formation and the picturesque lake. 9km, Grade 3, 3 hours.  We will then make our way to our accommodation in Bright. 

Day 2

• Early start for breakfast before our big day hike to Mt Bogong via Eskdale Spur. Walk to the top of Victoria’s tallest mountain, enjoying the fresh alpine air and be rewarded for your efforts with spectacular views. 22km, Grade 5, 8 hours.  Celebrate your achievements back at the accommodation with a delicious home-cooked meal and a glass of wine. 

Day 3

• Enjoy a small sleep in before heading out for a scenic circuit walk at Rocky Creek. Explore this diverse landscape of granite tors, alpine ash and snowgrass plains. 13km, Grade 3, 5 hours. Spend the afternoon at your leisure, relaxing at the accommodation or exploring the charming town of Bright. 

Day 4

• Following breakfast we will set off on a countryside stroll from Bright to Wandilong, spotting birds and other wildlife as our legs enjoy a recovery walk. Stopping off at Ringer Reef Winery on the way home, we will do a tour and treat ourselves to a little tasting before lunch and then heading back to Melbourne.

Overview

We’ve had some wonderful walks at Refuge Cove in Wilsons Promontory, and we are going again because its AWESOME.We would love to show you how amazing this walk is and have strict permit restrictions, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Our overnight walks are fully guided and this moderate grade walk will give you the opportunity to learn more, explore further and push that boundary. We love the outdoors and will create a fun and energetic atmosphere where you can feel comfortable. Plus our usual standard of high quality yummy food this will be your best overnight hike of the season.

Refuge Cove is one the gems of the Prom, with a 16km walk to get there though, this is definitely a walk to test those legs. We start down the centre track before turning east towards the sandy white beach of Waterloo Bay. Cross the little creek and continue up and over the harder section of Kersops Peak. Be rewarded by the awesomely hidden, turquoise waters of Refuge Cove as you make your windy way back down to sea level. Grab a spot to put up your tent amongst the gum trees and quickly get down to the water for a swim.

Day two will begin with some windy trails after leaving Refuge and you are soon rewarded once again by the mighty Sealers Cove beach. This is a truly spectacular beach to sit and have morning tea. Take off your shoes and hopefully nothing more to cross the tidal Sealers Creek, wander the beach in your barefeet and gaze to distant shorelines for this wonderful section of walking.

With your shoes back on, hit some very flat boardwalk before the ascent out of eastern part of the Prom and back over Windy Saddle. Grab a quick lunch before your final few kms of gravel track back to the start. What an epic walk!
