Itinerary
Day 1 Millers Landing to Tin Mine Cove
Today is our longest day on the trail, covering approximately 28 kilometers. The initial stretch includes a dirt road followed by a scrubby trail leading to flatter forest areas. We'll cross Chinamans swamp, typically waist-deep, and navigate through coastal scrub before reaching Chinamans Long Beach for a few kilometres. The final section takes us to Tin Mine Cove, our campsite for the night.
Day 2 Tin Mine Cove to Five Mile Beach
Our journey continues with a 19km hike, crossing the Park to the eastern side. The trail involves an overgrown path and a short steep descent to Three Mile Beach. After a stroll along the long beach, we'll tackle a 2km rocky coastline section and ascend over the headland to Johnny Souey Cove. The day concludes with our steepest headland traverse and a stream crossing to reach the Five Mile Beach campsite.
Day 3 Five Mile Beach - Millers Landing
Weather conditions will significantly impact today's 18km hike, as there's minimal shelter on the open road back to our starting point. The trail is a straightforward vehicle track, but it includes some hilly sections, which can be particularly challenging in hot weather.
