Darebin Parklands – HikeFit

All fitness levels welcome. A hybrid session of hiking with some exercises thrown in to help build up your fitness on the trail. Think squats, a few stairs, uphills, lunges etc. Suitable for all fitness levels from complete beginner to fitness fanatics. We’ll scale the movements to suit you.

We then spend some time walking along the beautiful trails of Darebin parklands, chat along the way taking in nature. Located close to Alphington Station.

HikeFit is our online program to give you the confidence and fitness to hike.. In this face to face session we will cover:
How to go up hills with out sounding like you are dying!
How to come down a hill, with out doing your knees
How to walk with poles and some other ‘fun’ exercise to get you HikeFit! ,

Our short walks are your best opportunity when you don’t have a whole day to spare, you’ll be done before midday. A great way to start your day, soaking in nature, meeting new friends. And this HikeFit element is a great way to build fitness towards a challenge or bigger hike.

What’s included

Experienced & qualified guides

Our guides are trained to give you the best on and off trail support.

First Aid Support

All our staff are Remote First Aid trained, have comprehensive first aid kits and carry UHF radios and PLBs when required.

Social & Fun

The TSA community is supportive and our groups are welcoming.

Additional Information

What to bring
  • 1-2 litres of drink depending on the weather
  • A small backpack
  • Personal Medication
  • Walking poles if you normally use them (not required though)
  • Trail shoes or runners are generally fine except in very wet conditions
  • Suitable walking clothes and a hat or beanie depending on weather
Food
As this is a short hike we do not provide lunch. We do provide some light snacks to fuel you along the trail. This could be orange slices, protein balls, lemon slice or lollies. Please bring your own water
