Anakie Gorge – Short Hike

Join us on this delightful exploration of one of Melbourne’s lesser known gorges. Fantastic walking tracks combined with spectacular views, hills, and flat walking make this hike a great all-rounder. The forests west of Melbourne are great places to see grass trees, drooping sheoaks, and the fascinating sedimentary rock formations that have been folded and twisted for millions of years. The tracks vary from a rocky single track to open easy pathways, so be ready for a range of adventure.

Add more hiking to your weekend and enjoy a healthier and fitter lifestyle. Our short walks are your best opportunity when you don’t have a whole day to spare, and we’ll have some morning snacks available to keep you going. It’s a great way to start your day, have a little exploration, and meet new people.

Our short hikes are usually around or less than 10km and graded 2, 3, or 4. At the easier end of the scale is a Grade 2 hike, perfect for beginners and those just wanting an active social outing. They are a great way to gain confidence, meet like minded people and start a journey of hiking.
