Why join a beginner hike?

We have a lot of enquiries that start with โ€˜I donโ€™t want to slow everyone downโ€™, and these walks are tailored to suit you so that you never feel left behind. Our goal is for you to feel supported as you begin a journey outside, and this starts with small wins, and a feeling of community and inclusion. Weโ€™d love to have you join us for a Whitsunday tour or a trip to the Bay of Fires, and that journey has to start somewhere.

We hope this will enable you to achieve and ultimately smash any hike you choose! We will not only motivate you, give you tips, inspire you and show you what it is possible to achieve, introduce you to like minded people and empower you to dream big!

What to do after your beginner hikes:

At Take Shape Adventures, we have something for everyone. From Day Hikes and Weekend Escapes to Micro Adventures and Corporate Tours.

5 Ways to Step Outside Your Comfort Zone

We get it. After 3 months of Winter, life can become pretty mundane. You feel cold, wet, and trapped in the cycle of getting up, going to work, coming home, having dinner, TV, bed – repeat. Bleh. Lots of you will book holidays to escape this time of year, so much so that we’ve coined…

  • Journeying with Geoff

This week we have a selection of stories – and some exciting advice – from our wonderful community member Geoff, as he shares his story of his life of adventure. From Boy Scouts to the base camp of Everest, Geoff has truly been on every adventure possible (probably)! Have a read of his story to…

  • A New Discovery

    A New Discovery

We have another fantastic community story this week, this time from Kate Frawley. She’s got some encouraging messages about the positive outcomes of giving things a go, and how hiking gives you the option to either build up to trickier walks, or just jump right into a challenging one. Have a read and see how…

  • Werribee Woes?

    Werribee Woes?

We’ve heard a couple of awesome stories from our community so far… and this is no different! Our next adventure community tale comes from Sally Preston as she recounts her first adventure out to Werribee Gorge, one of our classic day hikes. If you’re feeling at all uncertain about joining us on a hike, have…

  • Lessons from the Larapinta

    Lessons from the Larapinta

At TSA, weโ€™ve always believed the great outdoors is the best classroom for teaching life lessons and how to overcome adversity. If youโ€™ve ever come on one of our adventures, you know that nature has a funny way of presenting challenges and changes that force us to adapt and evolve. And for those of you…

    Kellie’s Life of Adventure

One of the more recent additions to our team of guides, Kellie Fennel has already made a great first impression in our community (thanks Kellie!). Her ability to lead a fun, social, and challenging hike didn’t just come from nowhere, though. She’s had a life full of adventure that has given her these skills and…

  • An Inspiring Story (That Could be Yours!)

We all know about the amazing adventures run by TSA and how they’ve inspired many to get off the couch and start living life outside their comfort zone. However, many of our adventurers are already well acquainted with adventure and hiking, instead finding the benefits of group hiking, community, and the ease of having someone…

  • Never Too Old to Hike

In a world that has become obsessed with youth and โ€œanti-ageingโ€ measures, it’s easy to fall into the trap of believing that certain activities are reserved for the young and fit. Hiking could be thought of as one of these activities, but being one of humanity’s oldest pursuits, it defies the boundaries of age, fitness…

  • The Truth Behind โ€œthe Journeyโ€

We often come across stories in books, on TV, and on social media where people proudly proclaim, “I just did it! I went from point A to point B. I got off the couch and I climbed the mountain”. However, these stories often fail to capture the real essence of the journey and the obstacles…

  • Being Enough in a Striving World

In a world that constantly demands perfection and conformity, it’s easy to lose sight of our true worth. We often find ourselves striving to meet unrealistic standards, seeking validation from others, and neglecting our own well-being. Rather than focusing on what truly brings joy and wellness to our lives, we get stuck between deadlines, material…
